APC condemns Lagos PDP gubernatorial candidate’s visit
The Lagos State PDP standard bearer reiterated that he was not opposed to having traffic law and regulations in place or encouraging anybody driving against traffic, but said what he was against is any law that takes away people’s means of livelihood, and leaving them and all their dependants helpless and hopeless.
Adediran, accompanied by his running mate, Funke Akindele-Bello, at the residences of AbdulLateef and Osinachi, promised to review some of the laws on ground, which he described as punitive.
He also decried a situation where markets were announced closed “just because one individual or two committed a sin.”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, yesterday, frowned on the visit by Adediran to traffic law breakers.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the APC’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Seye Oladejo, while reacting to the visit, described Adediran as being desperate and promoting lawlessness and playing politics with human lives.

Ogunleye, stated: “We must realise that laws are made for the people and not people for the law. Therefore, all laws must bear a human face and seek to correct rather than destroy the very citizens that they were made for.
“In this instance, the penalty for breaking the law in question amounted to killing an ant with a sledge hammer and will potentially create more problems than it was meant to solve.”
“One may wonder why a state government that is supposed to cater for the welfare of the people is so intent on taking away the means of livelihood of the same people when other measures, such as hefty fines, could have served as a deterrent to potential offenders?
“Their pathetic outburst could be the wild ranting of a dying hegemony having realised that their game is up and Lagosians are now sick and tired of the poor governance that they have been subjected to for the past 23 years and are now craving for the breathe of fresh air, which the dynamic duo of Adediran and Olufunke Akindele represent.”
