NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin is cancelled

Before the world changed, WWE planned to have the first NXT UK TakeOver outside of England on April 26, 2020 in Dublin. It looked like the show would be main evented by a Finn Bálor vs. WALTER showdown. Becky Lynch was probably going to appear. It would have been great!

Then concerns about COVID-19 turned into the pandemic, and everyone around the globe is still trying to figure out how to move forward more than a year later.

WWE’s been trying to move forward with TakeOver: Dublin by moving it to later dates. But after doing that a couple times, and with no guarantee the June 20, 2021 they’d last announced would be feasible, they’ve gone ahead and called the whole thing off.

Fans first noticed it this morning when Ticketmaster listed the show as cancelled, and WWE confirmed to Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes this afternoon:

“NXT UK Live: Dublin scheduled to take place at 3Arena, Dublin on Sunday, June 20 2021 has been cancelled. Refunds will be available from point of purchase.”
