The 52-year-old fought eight rounds with Tyson in November with the bout ending in a draw. Jones Jr does not expect a re-match with Tyson with the 54-year-old set to take on Evander Holyfield in a trilogy fight.

The American spends most of his time working as a trainer but says he would step into the ring again if the right offer came along and suggested Silva or Emelianenko as opponents he would like to face.

‘I’m trying to be a trainer but obviously they want to see me in the role of a trainer as much as a boxer. So right now, I don’t know. If there’s a good offer, then I’ll take it, and if not, then I’ll stay a trainer. I like it,’ Jones told RT.

‘I don’t think I will have another fight with [Mike] Tyson. Now he’s getting ready to fight with Holyfield.

‘I would like a fight with Anderson Silva or with MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko, that would be a great exhibition fight. We’ll see how it goes.

‘I’ve retired, but if something good comes up… They called me about a fight with Glenn McCrory in Dubai. They pay big money there, so we’ll see what comes of it.’

A showdown between Jones and Silva has been touted before but failed to materialise because of Silva’s contract with UFC.

But the 46-year-old was released from his contract in November, just weeks after losing to Uriah Hall at UFC Vegas 12.

Following his release, Silva, nicknamed the Spider, is now free to fight Jones Jr.

Emelianenko is currently signed to Bellator and the Rizin Fighting Federation. The 44-year-old, who was hospitalised due to Covid-19 last month, has a record of 46 fights, 39 wins and six defeats. He last faced Quinton Jackson in Bellator 237 in December 2019, beating the American in 2 minutes and 44 seconds.
