Former Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed speculations about his alleged ambition to return to office, stating clearly that he is not desperate for a political comeback.

Speaking during a recent media engagement in Port Harcourt, Fubara said his focus remains on supporting the growth and stability of the state, rather than pursuing personal political interests. He described the rumours surrounding his supposed desire to reclaim the governorship seat as distractions aimed at stirring unnecessary tension in the state’s political landscape.

“I have served my state with sincerity and dedication,” Fubara stated. “My goal has never been to cling to power, and I am not desperate to return to Government House. Rivers State deserves peace and progress, not constant political battles.”

Fubara also emphasized that his interest lies in ensuring that democratic institutions in the state remain strong and respected. He called on political stakeholders to prioritize the welfare of the people over personal ambitions or vendettas.

The former governor’s remarks come amid growing tensions and speculations about potential realignments ahead of the next election cycle. However, Fubara urged supporters and critics alike to focus on governance and development, assuring them that his next steps will be guided strictly by principle and public interest.
