The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially unveiled the new jersey for the Super Falcons ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), generating excitement among fans and players alike. The jersey, a product of the national team’s continued partnership with global sportswear giant Nike, blends tradition with modern design and serves as a bold statement of intent as the Falcons prepare for continental glory.

At the unveiling ceremony held in Abuja, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau described the new kit as “a symbol of pride, unity, and renewed ambition” for the Super Falcons. He praised the designers for capturing the spirit of Nigeria’s vibrant culture while meeting the demands of high-performance sportswear.

“The Super Falcons are not just a football team — they are a national symbol,” Gusau said. “This new jersey reflects the strength, resilience, and elegance that define our women’s national team. As they head to the 2025 WAFCON, we want them to feel empowered and supported, both on and off the pitch.”

The home kit features a striking blend of emerald green and white, with a geometric pattern inspired by traditional Nigerian motifs. The away jersey introduces a sleek all-black design with green accents, a modern twist that has already sparked a flurry of positive reactions on social media. Both kits are made with Nike’s advanced Dri-FIT technology to ensure maximum comfort and performance in varying weather conditions.

Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi, who was present at the unveiling, expressed delight at the new design. “It’s beautiful, it’s powerful, and it feels Nigerian,” she said. “Every time we put on this jersey, we carry the hopes of millions. We’re ready to make our country proud at WAFCON 2025.”

The Super Falcons, nine-time champions of Africa, are gearing up for what promises to be a highly competitive tournament. With Morocco set to host the 2025 WAFCON, Nigeria will face tough opposition from the likes of South Africa, Cameroon, and the host nation itself. The new jersey, according to the NFF, is part of broader preparations to ensure the team enters the tournament with both style and substance.

In addition to the kits, the NFF also launched a line of training and travel apparel, giving fans and supporters a chance to connect with the team in new ways. The merchandise will be available for purchase both online and in select retail outlets nationwide, with proceeds supporting grassroots women’s football development.

Football analysts have lauded the unveiling as timely, noting that a strong brand identity can play a crucial role in boosting team morale and fan engagement. “The Falcons are more than ready,” said sports journalist Chuka Nwoke. “This jersey is more than just fabric — it’s a statement that Nigeria is coming to win.”

As the countdown to WAFCON 2025 continues, the Super Falcons are expected to play a series of friendly matches and training camps to fine-tune their strategy. With a new look and renewed focus, hopes are high that the team will reclaim its place at the top of African women’s football.

The jersey launch is not only a fashion-forward move but also a cultural moment — one that bridges sport, identity, and national pride. As Nigerian fans don the green and white in support of their heroines, one thing is certain: the Super Falcons are set to soar.
