In a heartwarming gesture aimed at promoting education and easing the burden on families, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has donated school bags and educational materials to pupils in Ikom, a local government area in Cross River State.
The outreach, which took place earlier this week, saw hundreds of school children receive essential learning items, including exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, and branded school bags. The initiative is part of MFM’s broader commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and support for education across Nigeria.
Representatives from MFM’s regional office were present at the distribution event, where they encouraged the pupils to remain focused on their studies and take advantage of every opportunity to learn. The church emphasized that the gesture was not only to assist parents struggling with back-to-school expenses, but also to inspire hope and academic excellence in the next generation.
One of the coordinators, speaking during the event, said:
“Education is a foundation for a better future. MFM is committed to ensuring that no child is left behind due to lack of basic learning tools. This is our way of giving back and showing the love of Christ in action.”
Teachers and parents expressed deep appreciation for the donation, noting that the materials would go a long way in supporting the children’s academic journey, especially at a time when economic challenges are weighing heavily on many households.
A local school principal, visibly moved by the support, remarked:
“This is timely and highly commendable. Many of our pupils come from underprivileged homes and often show up to school without basic supplies. This donation will not only boost their morale but also improve attendance and participation in class.”
The outreach in Ikom is one of several similar efforts by MFM across various states in Nigeria. Through its charity and welfare arms, the church continues to impact communities by providing food, educational support, healthcare interventions, and spiritual guidance.
As the new academic session begins, MFM’s donation has brought smiles to many young faces and renewed confidence among students, reaffirming the power of faith-based organizations in driving positive change in society.
