AC Milan Cancels Victor Boniface Transfer After Failed Medic

AC Milan’s pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has come to an abrupt end after the forward failed routine medical examinations in Italy.

The Serie A giants had reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for a deal structured as a €5 million loan with a €24 million buy option. Boniface even arrived in Milan over the weekend to finalize the move, but the transfer collapsed after medical checks revealed concerns about his fitness.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Sunday, stating: “AC Milan call Victor Boniface deal off as Nigerian striker did not pass the medical tests. Despite verbal agreement for €5m loan fee and €24m buy clause with player in Milano in the last 48h, deal called off due to medical. Boniface, returning in Germany today.”

The setback is linked to the 24-year-old’s troubling injury history. Reports suggest Boniface has endured two anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgeries in the past and continues to struggle with recurring groin issues, which have raised doubts about his ability to stay fit consistently.

The failed transfer is a blow for both player and club—Boniface was seen as a potential attacking reinforcement for Milan, while the striker had hoped to make a mark in Serie A after a promising spell in Germany. He will now return to Bayer Leverkusen, where questions over his long-term durability remain.
