What was meant to be a night of music and excitement ended in sorrow after some fans of Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez reportedly lost their lives in a fatal car accident while returning from his much-anticipated concert on Saturday night, August 23, 2025, at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island.

According to reports circulating online, the tragic incident occurred along the expressway shortly after the show. An eyewitness identified as @alli_ya7 shared a disturbing video clip of the aftermath on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In her account, she claimed that the victims were allegedly engaged in a car race after leaving the concert venue.

She wrote:

“They left the show and started racing on the express, trying to overtake other cars. Why race on the highway? May their souls rest in peace. SPEED KILLS.”

The accident, which reportedly involved more than four vehicles, resulted in multiple casualties and has since sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms. While the exact number of victims is yet to be confirmed, the tragic news has thrown fans of the artist and members of the public into mourning.

Videos shared online show damaged cars at the scene of the crash, with bystanders gathered around in shock. The incident has once again raised concerns about reckless driving, overspeeding, and unsafe road behavior often linked to post-concert euphoria among young fans.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from Seyi Vibez or the Lagos State Police Command regarding the accident, but tributes have continued to pour in for the victims online.

For many, what should have been a memorable night of music and entertainment has now become a night forever marked by tragedy.
