Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala completes Al Hilal move on two-yeardeal

Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has completed a high-profile move to Al Hilal in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, signing a two-year contract that will keep her at the club until 2027.

The 29-year-old forward, who joined Bay FC in the United States earlier this year, finalized her transfer after arriving in Saudi Arabia on Monday to undergo medical checks. Both Bay FC and Al Hilal agreed to an undisclosed fee before the close of the transfer window, according to The Athletic.

Oshoala’s move marks the latest chapter in her illustrious career. The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year previously enjoyed a glittering spell at FC Barcelona Femeni, where she lifted multiple Spanish league titles, a UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy, and earned several Golden Boot awards.

At Bay FC, she featured in 25 matches last season, starting 23 and scoring seven goals. However, her playing time dwindled this season, with just five starts in 12 appearances and no goals to her name—setting the stage for a fresh challenge in the Middle East.

For Al Hilal, Oshoala’s signing represents a major statement of intent. The Riyadh-based side, which finished sixth in the expanded 2024–25 league season, is looking to climb the ranks and compete for silverware.

The Nigerian star also joins a growing contingent of Super Falcons players in Saudi Arabia, including Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega, further strengthening the league’s Nigerian influence.

With her proven track record, leadership, and eye for goal, Oshoala is expected to be a key figure as Al Hilal push to establish themselves as title contenders in the fast-developing Saudi women’s football scene.
