The Nigeria Police Force has redeployed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi to Delta State, where he will serve as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
Adejobi, widely known for his role as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), was recently elevated to his current rank after confirmation by the Police Service Commission. His new posting, announced by Force Headquarters, places him at the heart of one of Nigeria’s most security-sensitive regions.
According to the announcement, the deployment is part of the routine reorganization of senior officers aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the police across the country.
Police authorities said Adejobi’s professional background—spanning public communication, crisis management, and community policing—equips him for the challenges of overseeing law enforcement operations in Delta State.
As DCP Operations, he will be responsible for coordinating crime prevention strategies, directing responses to violent crimes, and fostering collaboration between the police and local communities.
The Force Headquarters expressed confidence that Adejobi’s appointment would further boost security initiatives in the South-South state, given his track record of leadership and service.
