Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to unveil the 2026 GLC with EQ Technology at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, and ahead of its full debut, the automaker has teased its most high-tech interior yet.
The highlight is a massive 39.1-inch dashboard-wide “Hyperscreen,” the largest display ever fitted to a Mercedes. Unlike the current generation found in other EQ models—where three screens are blended into a glossy panel—the new version is a seamless, full-width display with matrix backlighting and over 1,000 individually controlled LEDs. Mercedes says it also debuts an “intelligent zone dimming” feature for sharper, more adaptive visuals.
The GLC has long been Mercedes’ best-selling model, and this electric iteration aims to build on that success by pairing familiar luxury with cutting-edge tech. Early teasers show turbine-style air vents integrated into the display and interiors dressed in brushed aluminum and finely stitched leather, giving the cabin a futuristic yet distinctly Mercedes feel.
This reveal comes as German automakers intensify their pushback against rising competition from Chinese EVs. Audi recently impressed with its Q6 E-Tron, BMW has unveiled a refreshed iX3 with its own panoramic screen, and now Mercedes is leaning heavily on tech-driven luxury to stay ahead.
On the outside, the electric GLC features a previewed grille with 942 illuminated pixels capable of animated light displays, adding to its futuristic design language. Full details will be unveiled during the IAA Mobility show, with U.S. sales expected to begin in spring 2026.
With its record-setting screen, refined cabin, and bold design cues, the GLC EV positions itself as one of Mercedes’ most ambitious steps yet into the electric future.
