The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally recognised Senator David Mark as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, named as the party’s National Secretary.

The announcement, made via INEC’s official social media platforms on Wednesday, September 10, also confirmed Dr. Ibrahim Mani as the National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as the National Financial Secretary, and Professor Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as the National Legal Adviser.

The recognition by the electoral body effectively consolidates the new leadership structure of the ADC as it positions itself to play a stronger role in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Political observers note that the David Mark-led ADC has already gained traction within the country’s opposition coalition, which has reportedly adopted the party as its platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

With Mark’s decades-long political influence and Aregbesola’s grassroots appeal, analysts believe the party may emerge as a formidable contender in the run-up to the next electoral cycle.
