Afrobeats superstar David Adedeji Adeleke Jr., popularly known as Davido, has been confirmed as the only Nigerian artiste set to perform at the 2026 edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, one of the world’s most prestigious music events.

The announcement places Davido alongside an impressive global lineup that includes pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Karol G, BIGBANG, FKA Twigs, The Strokes, David Byrne, and Disclosure — all headlining what promises to be a landmark festival in Indio, California.

For Davido, this milestone carries an added weight of destiny. He was initially billed to perform at Coachella in 2019 but missed out due to scheduling conflicts. His return in 2026 as the only Nigerian representative is being celebrated as both redemption and a recognition of his decade-long influence in spreading Afrobeats worldwide.

Davido will take the Coachella stage on both Saturdays, April 11 and April 18, 2026, at the Empire Polo Club, bringing hits like Unavailable, Fall, and Feel to an estimated 250,000 festival-goers. His electrifying live performances, already proven across continents, are expected to be a major highlight of the festival.

The 2026 lineup also includes a few notable African-rooted voices. British-Nigerian rapper Little Simz will perform on Sundays, April 12 and 19, while British-Kenyan star PinkPantheress will thrill audiences on April 11 and 18 with her Coachella debut. Their inclusion adds further depth to the African representation on one of music’s biggest stages.

For Davido, however, the spotlight is unmistakably historic. As the only Nigerian artiste on the bill, his participation signals the unstoppable rise of Afrobeats, from Lagos dancefloors to global main stages. His recent 5IVE Alive Tour, which spans 12 North American venues through November 2025, has already cemented his global pull.

Coachella 2026 runs over two weekends, April 10–12 and April 17–19, promising an eclectic mix of genres and unforgettable performances. For Nigerian music lovers, all eyes will be on Davido, the “O.B.O” who turned missed chances into a global triumph.
