Police have arrested two men in connection with the violent attack and robbery of popular Nigerian singer Lil Kesh at his Lagos residence.

The suspects, identified as Mathew Adewole (25) and Mukhtar Muhammad (31), were apprehended in Kano after weeks of intelligence tracking and surveillance. Their arrest followed coordinated efforts between security operatives across states.

According to the police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, Adewole admitted to launching the attack on August 19, during which Lil Kesh sustained a deep cut on his neck. Under threat, the singer was reportedly forced to transfer ₦2.1 million into Mukhtar’s bank account before the assailants fled.

“The suspects have both confessed to their roles in the attack. They have since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command, where further investigation and prosecution will follow,” SP Haruna confirmed.

Lil Kesh, born Keshinro Ololade, is said to be recovering from the injuries he sustained during the assault. Police authorities assured the public that justice would be served and reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens, including high-profile figures often targeted by criminals.

The case has sparked public concern over the rising wave of violent robberies targeting celebrities, with many fans expressing relief that the suspects were swiftly apprehended.
