FG Declares Wednesday October 1st Public Holiday -

 

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the milestone, urging citizens to continue to uphold the patriotic spirit, unity, and resilience that have sustained the nation since its independence in 1960.

He expressed optimism that the 2025 Independence Day celebration would be memorable and called on Nigerians to reflect on the progress made so far while working together to overcome the country’s challenges.

The Minister also wished all Nigerians a peaceful and joyous 65th Independence Anniversary celebration.
