President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to deliver a nationwide broadcast as Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.

According to the Presidency, the address will outline the government’s plans for economic recovery, national security and social welfare while highlighting achievements recorded since Tinubu assumed office. The speech is expected to be broadcast live across television, radio and digital platforms on October 1.

Presidential aides say the address will also reflect on Nigeria’s democratic journey, unity and resilience over the past six and a half decades. Citizens are urged to tune in as the President is likely to unveil new policy directions and reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.

This year’s Independence Day celebrations are being held on a relatively low-key scale due to current economic realities, but the government says it remains committed to building a prosperous and secure nation.
