A powerful explosion tore through an explosives manufacturing plant in Tennessee on Friday, leaving multiple people dead and several others unaccounted for. The blast, which shook surrounding neighborhoods and sent plumes of black smoke billowing into the sky, has been described as one of the most devastating industrial accidents in the state in recent years.
A Community Shaken by Disaster
The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. local time in the small industrial town where the plant is located. Residents miles away reported feeling the ground tremble and hearing what sounded like a thunderclap, only to later learn that it came from the explosives facility.
