Reality TV star and businesswoman, Natacha Akide—better known as Tacha—has completed her ambitious 24-hour Guinness World Record attempt for the highest number of makeovers done in a single day.
The challenge, which kicked off on Saturday at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture & History in Lagos, came to a triumphant close at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Despite a few obstacles, including a brief power outage in the early hours, Tacha pressed on with determination and successfully transformed 145 models within the marathon timeframe.
The makeover session featured a diverse group of participants—men and women of different skin tones, body types, and backgrounds. Popular figures like Venita Akpofure, Influencer Mitchy, and creative duo Wanni and Handi were among those who stepped forward as models, showcasing Tacha’s versatility under pressure.
Each transformation was carefully documented through professional photographs and runway displays as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, which doubled as both a celebration of beauty and the platform for her record-breaking feat.
The event drew a vibrant crowd of celebrities and well-wishers, including Alex Unusual, Toke Makinwa, Ice Prince, Dabota Lawson, Slimcase, Soma Anyama, Egungun of Lagos, and Lagos State Governor’s Special Adviser on Tourism, Idris Aregbe. Their presence amplified the celebratory spirit of the day and underscored the wide support Tacha commands within the entertainment and beauty industry.
Speaking ahead of the attempt, Tacha explained that her motivation was rooted in a desire to highlight the creativity, resilience, and global potential of Nigerian women.
“This is more than just makeup—it’s about proving that consistency and passion can put us on the world stage,” she said.
Though the feat has been concluded, official confirmation from Guinness World Records is still pending. Once verified, Tacha could make history as one of the first Nigerian beauty entrepreneurs to secure a Guinness title in the beauty industry.
From her breakout on Big Brother Naija Season 4 to becoming a thriving media personality and entrepreneur, Tacha has consistently reinvented herself. Her 24-hour makeover marathon stands as a testament to her determination and growing influence, not only in Nigeria but also on the global beauty scene.
