In a bold move to strengthen youth collaboration and drive economic reform through innovation, Seyi Tinubu — son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and convener of the Change Nigeria Initiative — hosted a strategic dialogue with some of Nigeria’s most influential Igbo entrepreneurs and philanthropists in Lagos on Wednesday.

The high-profile meeting, which took place at The Delborough Lagos in Victoria Island, brought together notable figures such as Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana; Stanley Uzochukwu of Stanel Group; music executive and businessman E-Money; oil magnate Hon. Chima Anyaso; and Zenco Group’s CEO, among others.

The gathering, described by attendees as a “pivotal moment for intergenerational collaboration,” focused on promoting youth inclusion in governance, expanding Nigeria’s entrepreneurial frontiers, and fostering unity across ethnic lines.

A Vision Beyond Politics: Building a Youth-Powered Future

In his opening remarks, Seyi Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to empowering young Nigerians through enterprise, innovation, and community development. He noted that the Change Nigeria Initiative was not a political vehicle, but rather a national platform to inspire a new culture of accountability, creativity, and shared growth.

“We cannot wait for government alone to drive progress,” he said. “Our generation must create opportunities, nurture industries, and redefine leadership by example. The Change Nigeria Initiative is about igniting purpose among young people to rebuild this country from the ground up.”

The conversation also explored pathways for leveraging private-sector expertise in supporting public reforms — particularly in areas of digital entrepreneurship, agricultural innovation, and small business financing.

Igbo Business Icons Applaud the Vision

Reacting to the discussions, Obi Cubana commended Seyi Tinubu for extending a hand of collaboration to young business leaders across regions. He described the meeting as “a gathering of visionaries who share the same passion for a united, prosperous Nigeria.”

“Today, we proved that unity is not a slogan — it’s a mission,” Cubana stated. “We may come from different backgrounds and tribes, but our dream is one: to see a Nigeria that works, where innovation and integrity are celebrated.”

Similarly, Stanley Uzochukwu of Stanel Group emphasized the importance of mentorship and inclusive partnerships. He pledged to align his corporate social responsibility projects with the Change Nigeria movement’s objectives, focusing on youth employment and skills development.

Private Enterprise as the Engine of National Renewal

The meeting also underscored the growing consensus that Nigeria’s long-term stability lies in economic diversification and private innovation. E-Money, a participant at the event, highlighted how entrepreneurs can play a crucial role in supporting local industries and job creation.

“We have to make Nigeria’s economy work for its youth,” he said. “We are not just businessmen — we are nation builders. If we want peace and prosperity, then every business owner must be part of the solution.”

Participants agreed to establish a Youth-Enterprise Collaboration Forum under the Change Nigeria Initiative, which will serve as a bridge between government, investors, and innovators. The forum is expected to launch in early 2026, with pilot projects in Lagos, Anambra, and Abuja.

Commitment to Integrity and Rule of Law

In his closing remarks, Seyi Tinubu reiterated that true change must be rooted in discipline, integrity, and respect for the law.

“Our expressions of patriotism may differ, but the outcome must always be progress achieved through legality and conscience,” he said. “Lagos thrives on order, and Nigeria’s greatness depends on accountability — not shortcuts.”

He emphasized that his vision for Change Nigeria is one of inclusion, where every youth — regardless of ethnicity or background — can contribute meaningfully to rebuilding the country.

A New Chapter in Youth-Driven Leadership

The Change Nigeria Initiative has gained momentum over the past year, promoting youth leadership, digital entrepreneurship, and innovation-driven philanthropy.

Political analysts see Seyi Tinubu’s meeting with Igbo business elites as a significant step toward bridging ethnic divides and redefining Nigeria’s next generation of leaders.

In the words of one participant:

“What we witnessed today wasn’t just a meeting — it was a movement. A vision where collaboration replaces competition, and young Nigerians take charge of their nation’s destiny.”

As the initiative gathers pace, stakeholders are optimistic that it could become one of the most influential youth-led platforms for uniting Nigeria’s diverse economic and cultural strengths under a common goal: real, practical change.
