Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has issued a public warning to her fans and followers after discovering that fraudsters are impersonating her online to carry out a UK job scam.
Taking to her verified Instagram account, the screen icon clarified that she has no connection to any recruitment or job offer, especially those being circulated under her name across social media platforms.
“Dear friends and supporters, please be cautious of fake accounts pretending to be me,” Wright wrote. “I will never ask anyone for money, private information, or personal chats through any other page. This is my only verified account.”
The actress revealed that a post advertising a UK job opportunity was recently shared from a cloned version of her account and has since been identified as fraudulent. She emphasized that the fake offer was not authorized or endorsed by her in any way.
“A job vacancy post was shared claiming to be from me—it is a scam. Please disregard it and do not fall victim,” she cautioned.
Wright further appealed to her fans to report and block any suspicious accounts attempting to impersonate her, expressing gratitude to those who have alerted her to the scam.
“If you receive any strange messages or offers using my name, report them immediately. I deeply appreciate your love, trust, and support always,” she added.
The actress’s statement comes amid a rising wave of celebrity impersonation scams in Nigeria, where fraudsters use the names and photos of public figures to lure unsuspecting victims into fake giveaways, job opportunities, or investment schemes.
Bukky Wright urged fans to rely only on information shared through her verified social media pages, stressing that vigilance is key to staying protected from online fraud.
