Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly addressed allegations that she is a drug addict by undergoing a medical drug test in the United Kingdom, which she says cleared her of any substance abuse.
The actress shared a video online showing the moment hospital staff handed her the test result, confirming that she tested negative for drugs. An emotional Daniels was seen shedding tears after receiving the outcome.
The move follows claims reportedly made by her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko, who had accused the actress of drug addiction—an allegation Daniels has repeatedly denied and described as false and damaging.
According to Daniels, the decision to take the test was motivated primarily by her children and those who have continued to support her during a difficult period.
“I did this because of my kids,” she said in the video. “I have never taken hard drugs.”
She, however, acknowledged that she had previously taken ecstasy, also known as Molly, but declined to explain the circumstances, stressing that it did not amount to drug addiction. Daniels added that she intends to pursue legal action over the allegations at the appropriate time.
In a lengthy post accompanying the video on Instagram, the actress opened up about the emotional toll of the past few months, describing it as a defining period marked by intense scrutiny and personal challenges.
“One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict,’” she wrote. “I paused, reflected, and realised that people often project their fears and insecurities onto others. But projection is not reality, and noise is not truth.”
Daniels said she chose to take the test not to prove anything to her critics, but out of respect for her supporters and to preserve her integrity and peace of mind.
“This chapter of my life is about self-discovery, growth and becoming more intentional,” she added, expressing gratitude to her family, friends and fans for their support, as well as her faith for sustaining her through the ordeal.
She concluded the message on a note of optimism, declaring that she is moving forward with renewed strength and purpose as the new year begins.
