U.S. President Donald Trump has been directly warned by Iran's Supreme Leader that any attack on the nation will spark a 'regional war' in the Middle East. Whether Trump will use force

Tensions between Iran and the United States escalated sharply after Iranian officials issued a chilling warning to U.S. President Donald Trump, telling him to “be careful” or risk being “eliminated.”

The warning came after Trump delivered a series of aggressive remarks aimed at Tehran’s leadership and its control over the vital Strait of Hormuz, a critical corridor through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes.

Trump’s Fiery Message to Tehran

During an interview with Fox News, Trump warned that Iran could face devastating consequences if it continued restricting movement through the Strait of Hormuz.

He cautioned that the Iranian regime should prepare for “death, fire, and fury” if the waterway remained closed, signaling that Washington could respond with overwhelming force.

Trump also took aim at Iran’s newly installed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, stating that the cleric would likely find it difficult to “live in peace” under the current circumstances.

The U.S. president added that he was dissatisfied with Mojtaba’s emergence as the country’s top authority, suggesting that Iran’s leadership decisions could have serious consequences for regional stability.

Iran Fires Back

Iranian officials quickly dismissed Trump’s remarks as hollow threats.

Senior political figure Ali Larijani responded forcefully, insisting that Iran would not be intimidated by Washington.

According to Larijani, Iran has survived greater adversaries in the past and will continue to resist pressure from foreign powers.

He warned that Trump should watch his own safety instead of threatening the Iranian nation, adding that powerful figures before him had failed to destroy Iran.

Assassination Plot Adds Fuel to Crisis

The latest exchange comes amid heightened security concerns surrounding Trump after a recent court verdict involving an alleged assassination attempt.

Authorities confirmed that Asif Merchant, a Pakistani citizen accused of working with operatives connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was convicted over a scheme targeting Trump during the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign.

Investigators said the suspect had undergone training linked to the IRGC and was allegedly involved in planning a coordinated attempt on the former president’s life.

U.S. national security agencies had earlier warned Trump’s campaign that Iranian-linked networks might be operating within the country and could be preparing attacks against him.

A Dangerous Moment in U.S.–Iran Relations

The latest war of words highlights the growing hostility between Washington and Tehran at a time when the Middle East is already on edge.

With tensions surrounding Iran’s leadership, the Strait of Hormuz, and ongoing regional military activity, analysts warn that the rhetoric from both sides could further inflame an already volatile situation.

For now, diplomatic channels appear strained, leaving the world watching closely as the standoff between the two longtime adversaries deepens.
