Media personality Bolanle Olukanni has expressed concern over the future of Dubai as a preferred tourist destination, following heightened tensions in the Middle East and reports of recent attacks linked to the ongoing conflict.

Olukanni’s remarks come after reports that Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes targeting locations in Dubai amid escalating hostilities involving Israel and the United States.

For years, Dubai has built a reputation as one of the world’s top luxury travel destinations, attracting millions of tourists annually. However, the recent developments have sparked concerns among travellers about safety and stability in the region.

Reports indicated that some high-profile locations were affected during the incident, including Dubai International Airport, where aircraft such as an Emirates Airbus A380 and a Saudia Airbus A321 were reportedly impacted. A luxury hotel at Palm Jumeirah was also said to have suffered damage.

Reacting to the situation, Olukanni suggested that such incidents could alter perceptions of Dubai as a safe and attractive holiday destination, especially for international travellers seeking stability and security.

Her comments reflect growing discussions about how geopolitical tensions in the Middle East may influence tourism patterns, particularly in cities traditionally known for luxury, entertainment, and business travel.
