Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, has made it clear that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman must prove his dedication before reclaiming his place in the team.

The 27-year-old winger has been at the center of transfer controversy after allegedly pushing for a switch to Serie A rivals Inter Milan during the summer window. His actions led to a two-week absence from training, leaving questions over his future at the Bergamo-based club.

Speaking to journalists, Percassi acknowledged Lookman’s undeniable talent but emphasized that discipline and focus are non-negotiable at Atalanta.

“We all recognize his quality, but playing here demands 100% concentration,” Percassi said. “When he’s ready, we’ll welcome him back with open arms.”

In recent weeks, concerns over Lookman’s commitment in training have intensified, with head coach Ivan Juric making it clear that the player will not be begged to return.
