Fidelity Bank Ghana has reaffirmed its dedication to fostering sustainable growth and supporting the creative sector with a landmark initiative at its 3rd annual Sustainability Conference. The event, held at The Palms by Eagles, celebrated innovation and resilience by awarding more than GH¢500,000 in funding to eight promising creative entrepreneurs.
Themed “Aligning Finance with Climate Action,” the conference brought together industry leaders, policymakers, financiers, and innovators to explore practical solutions for sustainable development, while spotlighting the winners of Fidelity Bank’s Orange Inspire Creative Challenge.
Eight Innovators, One Vision for Impact
The competition crowned Love Ankara, founded by Emma Maame Efua Tandoh, as the overall winner, receiving GH¢150,000 to scale her fashion business rooted in African identity. Runners-up, Church of Stories and Stay by Plan, were each awarded GH¢100,000 for their innovative contributions to storytelling and creative media.
Other finalists – Abrita Holdings and GRC Concepts – secured GH¢50,000 each. In an inspiring twist, Fidelity Bank’s Managing Director, Julian Opuni, announced that the remaining three finalists – Fashion Xcel, O Games Studio, and Experience Africa VR – would also walk away with GH¢25,000 each, ensuring that no creative talent left unrewarded.
“It takes courage to pitch a dream in eight minutes and defend it before a panel,” Opuni said. “Every finalist here represents the resilience and ingenuity Ghana needs. That’s why we chose to support all of them.”
A Defining Moment for Creatives
Emma Maame Efua Tandoh, founder of Love Ankara, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and support:
“This has been an eight-year journey. It’s never easy as a creative to access funding, but this opportunity has changed everything. We are going to be ambassadors for Fidelity Bank, applying the knowledge and training gained here to go even further.”
Her words echoed the sentiments of many participants who described the conference as a turning point in their entrepreneurial journeys.
Fidelity Bank as a Climate Finance Champion
The event also featured thought-provoking panel discussions that highlighted Ghana’s progress in structuring sustainable banking principles and strengthening its position in the global green economy.
Keynote speaker, Zia Choudhury, the new UN Resident Coordinator in Ghana, praised Fidelity Bank for integrating global sustainability frameworks into its operations. He applauded initiatives such as concessional loans for electric vehicles and renewable energy financing for schools and hospitals, noting that Fidelity’s “green portfolio demonstrates that climate action and business success can go hand in hand.”
Beyond Talk: A Commitment to Action
The Head of Partnerships, Sustainability, and CSR at Fidelity Bank, Nana Yaa Afriyie Ofori-Koree, closed the conference with a call to bold action:
“This is not just talk; it’s a commitment to act – beginning here and now. Fidelity Bank will continue to play a leading role in Ghana’s green transition, and our upcoming 2026-2030 Sustainability Strategy will cement this commitment.”
The conference, held in collaboration with UN Ghana, the Institute of Sustainability Professionals Ghana, Joy FM, Joy Business, and The Palms by Eagles, positioned Fidelity Bank not just as a financial institution, but as a driver of inclusive growth, sustainability, and innovation.
With over GH¢500,000 invested directly into the hands of young creatives, Fidelity Bank has sent a powerful message: Ghana’s future lies in the synergy of finance, creativity, and sustainability.
