Jimmy Kimmel & Disney Are Discussing the Return of Suspended Show - NewsBreak

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show is set to return to ABC on Tuesday after being abruptly yanked off the air last week, Disney confirmed on Monday.

The sudden suspension followed mounting backlash from conservative groups over remarks Kimmel made regarding the tragic shooting of Christian activist Charlie Kirk. ABC, which is owned by Disney, explained that the pause was intended to prevent further tensions during what they described as “an emotional moment for the nation.”

“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation,” Disney said in a statement. “We recognized that some of Jimmy’s comments were ill-timed and could have been perceived as insensitive. After days of thoughtful conversations with him, we have agreed the show will resume on Tuesday.”

Kimmel’s unexpected disappearance from TV screens triggered outrage among liberal commentators and media watchdogs, who accused the government of applying undue pressure on broadcasters to silence one of President Donald Trump’s fiercest critics.

The controversy highlights the growing tensions between political power and media freedom in the U.S., with Kimmel’s return poised to reignite debates about censorship, satire, and the boundaries of free speech in late-night television.
