Renowned Fuji music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has broken his silence over a recent incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, that stirred controversy on social media. The musician, in a public statement, clarified that he was not in possession of alcohol as speculated and expressed regret over any misunderstanding caused by the episode.

According to K1, the misunderstanding arose during a routine airport security check. He explained that the item in question, which some onlookers assumed to be alcohol, was in fact a harmless, non-alcoholic beverage he often travels with. The singer stressed that he does not carry alcoholic drinks through airport terminals, especially given his long-standing commitment to professionalism and respect for regulations.

In his apology, K1 De Ultimate extended appreciation to airport authorities for their professionalism in handling the situation. He also thanked his fans for their continued support, urging them not to be misled by sensationalised online narratives.

“I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience the incident may have caused to the airport staff, my fans, and the public. The truth remains that I was not carrying alcohol. I respect the rules of our airports and will always comply with them,” he stated.

The music icon’s clarification has since sparked conversations among fans, with many praising him for addressing the matter promptly and respectfully. For decades, K1 De Ultimate has been a household name in Nigeria’s music industry, and this swift public response appears aimed at preserving that reputation.
