Recent reports suggesting that Kanye West accused Kim Kardashian of leaving their daughter, North, unattended at the 2025 Met Gala and threatening legal action have been confirmed as part of a viral hoax.
The controversy began when a cease-and-desist letter, purportedly from a Spanish lawyer named Kathy Johnson, circulated online. This letter alleged that Kardashian violated their joint custody agreement by leaving North alone in a vehicle during the Met Gala and by exposing her to significant media attention. It also claimed that West was prepared to seek sole custody if his demands were not met.
However, upon investigation, West’s representatives denounced the letter as fake, criticizing media outlets for publishing the story without verification. Sources close to Kardashian asserted she never denies West access to their children but noted he seldom asks to see them.
This incident adds to the ongoing tensions between West and Kardashian, who finalized their divorce in 2022 and share joint custody of their four children.
