Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, have filed a defamation lawsuit against singer and entrepreneur Ray J after he allegedly made false claims linking them to a federal racketeering investigation.
According to court documents submitted by their attorney, Alex Spiro, the lawsuit stems from comments Ray J made earlier this year in TMZ’s United States vs. Sean Combs documentary and repeated during a September 24 livestream watched by millions of viewers.
“Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought a defamation claim before … but this false and serious allegation left no choice,” Spiro said in a statement reported by People.
The filing accuses Ray J of orchestrating a “sustained campaign of harassment and defamation” targeting Kardashian and Jenner for more than two decades — a feud that traces back to Ray J’s brief relationship with Kim in the early 2000s.
Lawyers for Kardashian and Jenner have categorically denied any federal investigation, describing Ray J’s remarks as a “reckless disregard for the truth” and “malicious defamatory conduct.”
Ray J and Kim Kardashian’s contentious history has long captured public attention — from the leak of their infamous sex tape to his 2013 hit “I Hit It First” and frequent tabloid spats. But this marks the first time either Kardashian or Jenner has filed a lawsuit for defamation, signaling how seriously they view the latest allegations.
