The Lamborghini Fenomeno has no fewer than three electric motors that complement the roaring V-12.
- Lamborghini revealed its fastest and most powerful road-going car at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering.
- The Italian supercar maker achieved impressive stats thanks to a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
- Two motors drive the front wheels, while a third motor mounted on top of the eight-speed transmissions assists the 6.5-liter V-12 engine.
Plug-in hybrid supercars arenât exactly newâthe McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 wowed everybody with the tech more than a decade ago. Now, though, Lamborghini upped the ante with the Fenomeno, its fastest and most powerful road car ever.
Obviously, this isnât your average PHEV, but it just goes to show that a technology thatâs readily available on regular commuter cars can also turn things up to eleven in the supercar world.
Lamborghini has once again rewritten the rules of performance with the debut of the Fenomeno, its fastest and most powerful road-going car to date. Unveiled at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the Fenomeno blends old-school V-12 muscle with next-generation hybrid technology to deliver record-breaking speed and precision.
A New Breed of Power
At the heart of the Fenomeno is a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 engine, pushing out 823 horsepower and 534 pound-feet of torqueâthe most powerful V-12 Lamborghini has ever built. But what elevates this machine beyond its predecessors is the trio of electric motors: two driving the front wheels and an axial flux motor from Yasa integrated with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Together, they unleash a combined 1,065 horsepower, launching the Fenomeno from 0â60 mph in just 2.4 seconds with a top speed exceeding 217 mph (350 km/h).
Hybrid Tech, Supercar Attitude
Plug-in hybrid supercars arenât newâicons like the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder pioneered the field more than a decade ago. But Lamborghini has taken the formula to new extremes. The Fenomeno features a 7-kWh high-voltage battery, nearly double the size of what powers the Revuelto, giving it stronger electric assistance and sharper performance. Unlike commuter plug-in hybrids, this isnât about fuel savingsâitâs about pushing engineering boundaries.
Design Meets Racing DNA
Each of the 29 Fenomeno units will come equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes derived from endurance racing, along with a manually adjustable suspension and a cutting-edge â6Dâ sensor system. This tech continuously reads acceleration, pitch, roll, and yaw, allowing the car to calculate optimal traction delivery in real time. Pair that with Lamborghiniâs signature lightweight construction and aggressive aerodynamics, and you have a machine designed as much for precision as for raw speed.
CEOâs Vision
âWith the Fenomeno, Lamborghini once again presents an incomparable super sports car in a limited edition,â said Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann. âThe combination of the most powerful V-12 in our history, breathtaking design, superior aerodynamics, and cutting-edge technologies makes the Fenomeno the most extraordinary supercar of our time.â
Exclusivity at a Price
Only 29 examples of the Fenomeno will be built, and unsurprisingly, they are already rumored to be spoken for by elite collectors. With a price tag in the millions, the Fenomeno isnât just a carâitâs a statement of power, exclusivity, and Lamborghiniâs vision of a hybrid future.
Bottom line: The Fenomeno isnât just a plug-in hybridâitâs Lamborghini proving that electrification can amplify, not dilute, the supercar experience.
