The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has issued a wanted notice for Nigerian-American entertainer and social media personality, Speed Darlington, over multiple allegations including rape and cyberbullying. The shocking development has stirred both public outrage and confusion, given the entertainer’s high-profile online presence and controversial persona.

In an official statement released on Thursday, NAPTIP confirmed that the artist, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, is being sought in connection with multiple complaints received over the past several months. According to the agency, several individuals have come forward with claims of sexual assault, harassment, and consistent patterns of online abuse and threats — actions that allegedly violate both Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act and laws against gender-based violence.

“Mr. Okoye is currently under investigation for multiple allegations ranging from rape to cyberbullying. Despite being contacted, he has failed to respond to our invitation to assist in our investigations. As such, he has officially been declared wanted,” the NAPTIP spokesperson said in the statement.

The agency further urged the public to assist in locating Speed Darlington, who is believed to have recently traveled between Lagos and the southeastern part of the country. NAPTIP noted that any information leading to his arrest would be treated with confidentiality and could aid in ensuring justice for the alleged victims.

While the full details of the allegations have not yet been disclosed, several alleged victims have reportedly submitted digital evidence, including screenshots of abusive messages and testimonies outlining incidents of sexual coercion. A source within the agency, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the complaints span both physical encounters and sustained online harassment.

Speed Darlington, known for his eccentric music videos, brash online rants, and provocative social media posts, has built a cult following both in Nigeria and among the diaspora. However, his antics have often drawn criticism for crossing the line into hate speech, misogyny, and threats against critics.

This is not the first time the entertainer has attracted attention from law enforcement. In the past, he has had run-ins with police over issues related to public disturbance and alleged defamation. However, this marks the most serious set of accusations against him to date.

As of the time of filing this report, Speed Darlington has not issued any public statement in response to the notice. His social media pages have remained unusually quiet, leading to speculation about his whereabouts.

Legal experts say if convicted of the charges, Speed Darlington could face significant jail time, especially under the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act (VAPP Act) and related cybercrime legislation.

NAPTIP reiterated its commitment to protecting victims of abuse and holding perpetrators accountable, regardless of their social or celebrity status.

The public has been advised to report any sightings or tips regarding the suspect’s location to the nearest NAPTIP office or police station.
