A governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress in Delta State, Emmanuel Usiwoghene Unuafe, has described the proposed joint ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as a significant development capable of reshaping Nigeria’s political future.
In a statement released on Friday, Unuafe said the collaboration represents more than a strategic political move, noting that it reflects a shared vision focused on national transformation, disciplined governance, and inclusive growth.
According to him, Nigeria is currently facing a decisive moment, where the choices made by citizens and leaders could determine the country’s long-term direction. He pointed out that persistent issues such as unemployment, insecurity, deteriorating infrastructure, and weak institutions require leadership that is both competent and accountable.
Unuafe said the Obi–Kwankwaso partnership presents an opportunity to shift Nigeria from promises to performance and from dependency to productivity.
He further explained that the proposed national direction aligns with his “New Delta Agenda,” a blueprint he says prioritises economic diversification, improved infrastructure, and people-oriented governance in Delta State. He added that just as Nigeria must unlock its economic potential, Delta State must also transition from untapped opportunities to tangible development.
The ADC aspirant called on Nigerians, both within the country and abroad, to set aside differences and support what he described as a growing movement for national renewal. He stressed that the focus should be on purposeful leadership rather than individual ambitions.
“This moment is bigger than personalities. It is about building a future anchored on credible leadership and meaningful progress,” he stated.
Unuafe also urged citizens to move beyond silent support and actively participate in shaping the country’s future, adding that history would ultimately judge Nigerians by the choices they make at critical moments.
He expressed optimism that with committed leadership at both national and state levels, Nigeria and Delta State could achieve sustainable growth, institutional reforms, and inclusive development.
