Olukayode Disu Orders Major Police Reshuffle, Announces New AIGs and CPs

The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Disu, has approved a comprehensive redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force, in what authorities described as a strategic move aimed at strengthening operations, boosting leadership effectiveness, and enhancing service delivery nationwide.

The development was disclosed on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, who stated that the postings form part of ongoing reforms to reinforce command structure and improve operational efficiency across formations and commands.

According to the statement, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) were assigned to key departments and zonal commands. Among them, AIG Ado Emmanuel was posted to Research and Planning at Force Headquarters, Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo will oversee the Department of Armament. AIG Miller Dantawaye was assigned to the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche will head Training and Development.

Other redeployments include AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2 in Lagos, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos, and AIG Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters. AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo will handle Police Accounts and Budget, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed moves to Zone 15 in Maiduguri.

Further postings saw AIG Dankombo Morris assigned to Zone 4 in Makurdi, AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14 Katsina, AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services at Force Headquarters, and AIG Ahmed Musa to Community Policing.

The reshuffle also affected several Commissioners of Police (CPs). CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya was deployed to Jigawa State Command, CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo State, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State, and CP Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command. CP Michael Adegoroye Falade takes charge in Ekiti, while CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro moves to Adamawa.

Similarly, CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed has been posted to the Federal Capital Territory Command, CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos State Command, CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto.

Additional assignments include CP Akan Ezima as Director of the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC), CP Abbas Sule to the Special Protection Unit, and CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to INTERPOL. Others were posted to key operational departments including SWAT, FCID Annexes, Police College, Special Fraud Unit, and community policing units.

The Inspector-General urged the newly deployed officers to bring their experience and professionalism to their new roles, stressing the importance of discipline, accountability, and public trust in policing.

The latest reshuffle, according to police authorities, is part of ongoing efforts by the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force to reposition the institution for improved security management and effective service delivery across the country.
