Residents flee as hoodlums attack Palm City Estate Ajah in Lagos State

Residents of Palm City Estate in the Ajah axis of Lagos State were thrown into fear and confusion after a group of suspected hoodlums forcefully entered the estate and carried out widespread destruction.

The incident, which was reported by Africa Independent Television (AIT), saw the attackers damaging property and causing panic among homeowners and occupants.

Eyewitnesses said the intruders claimed they were acting under the directive of a traditional authority, repeatedly mentioning the names of Obas as they moved through the estate, a tactic residents believe was meant to intimidate and silence opposition.

The sudden invasion reportedly left many residents traumatised, with some fleeing their homes as the situation escalated.

However, efforts to confirm the alleged involvement of any traditional ruler were unsuccessful at the time of reporting, as no official source has verified the claim.

Security agencies are yet to issue a formal statement on the incident, while residents have called on the Lagos State Government to urgently intervene and restore calm to the community.
