The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to intensify disciplinary measures against members found engaging in acts of disloyalty and anti-party activities. This move, according to party insiders, is aimed at restoring unity, strengthening internal cohesion, and ensuring that all members uphold the party’s constitution and core values.

Sources within the party leadership revealed that a list of erring members is already being compiled, with recommendations ranging from temporary suspension to outright expulsion. The party’s National Working Committee (NWC) is said to be determined to curb behaviors that undermine its stability, particularly as preparations intensify for upcoming elections.

In a statement, the PDP leadership emphasized that loyalty and commitment are non-negotiable for all party members. “The PDP is built on the principles of discipline, unity, and collective responsibility. Any member whose actions deliberately weaken the party’s strength or tarnish its image will face strict sanctions,” the statement read.

This crackdown comes amid growing concerns about internal divisions and reports of certain members openly working against the party’s interests during recent electoral contests. Analysts believe the latest disciplinary push signals the PDP’s resolve to reclaim its political dominance and present a united front ahead of critical political battles.

The move is also seen as a warning to politicians across the country that the era of unchecked anti-party activities within the PDP is coming to an end. With the NWC expected to make formal announcements in the coming days, political watchers are keenly observing which members will face the party’s disciplinary hammer.
