The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that TikTok sensation Habeeb Hamzat—popularly known as Peller—is safe. This assurance comes amid swirling reports that the content creator was kidnapped during a livestream broadcast.
According to the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, preliminary checks indicate that Peller is at home, unharmed, and has all his possessions intact—his vehicle, phones, and other belongings remain with him.
Hundeyin emphasized that the force is actively investigating the incident to determine whether it was an actual kidnapping, a possible staged abduction, or simply a false alarm.
The 20-year-old influencer, who rose to fame with his vibrant short-form videos and livestreams, had been broadcasting live when armed men appeared, prompting immediate concern. In the video, he appeared to mistake the individuals for security officers before being pulled away—an abrupt ending that sparked widespread alarm online.
Authorities caution the public against spreading unverified information that may fuel panic.
