Kylian Mbappe was the hero for Real Madrid as his brace propelled the Spanish giants to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga action. The match, held at the Santiago Bernabéu, saw a dramatic exchange of goals, with Mbappe’s clinical finishing proving decisive in securing all three points for Madrid.
The French forward opened the scoring in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from Vinícius Júnior. Celta Vigo responded quickly, equalizing just after the half-hour mark through an excellent strike from Iago Aspas, who found the top corner with a powerful shot.
As the match progressed, both teams created plenty of chances, but it was Real Madrid who regained the lead early in the second half. Mbappe once again delivered, netting his second goal in the 56th minute after a precise cross from Eduardo Camavinga. The goal left Celta Vigo scrambling to keep up, but a late goal from Celta’s Gabriel Veiga, who slotted home a rebound in the 80th minute, made for a tense final stretch.
Despite a late surge from Celta, Madrid held on to their slender lead, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois making a crucial save in the dying moments to preserve the win.
The victory lifts Real Madrid to the top of the La Liga table, as they continue to chase down the title. Mbappe’s brace continues his stellar form, further solidifying his role as a key player in the team’s attacking lineup.
