The worlds of politics and pop music collided in an unexpected way over the weekend after singer Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were spotted sharing affectionate moments on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.
Onlookers captured images of the duo embracing, laughing, and even sharing a kiss while soaking up the sun. Perry, dressed in a simple black swimsuit, appeared relaxed as Trudeau, casually shirtless, leaned in for a kiss.
The sighting has reignited speculation about a possible romance between the pair. Rumors first surfaced earlier this year when the two were seen having dinner together in Montreal, followed by Trudeau’s surprise appearance at one of Perry’s Canadian tour stops.

The timing of their closeness has also fueled curiosity. Perry ended her engagement to actor Orlando Bloom in June 2025, though the pair remain devoted co-parents to their daughter, Daisy Dove. Trudeau, on the other hand, separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in August 2023 after nearly two decades of marriage. The former couple share three children.
