President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Europe to commence a 10-day working holiday, which forms part of his 2025 annual leave.
A statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the President will divide his time between France and the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria.
The trip reflects a long-standing tradition among Nigerian leaders who often merge short vacations with official engagements abroad, commonly referred to as working holidays.
While away, Tinubu is expected to engage in informal consultations and strategic discussions with key stakeholders, in addition to taking some time to rest and rejuvenate.
In line with constitutional requirements, Vice President Kashim Shettima will temporarily oversee the day-to-day affairs of the state during the President’s absence.
