Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage is officially stepping back into the spotlight with the announcement of her highly anticipated new album, This One Is Personal, set for release on August 29, 2025.
The project, which comes five years after her last studio album, Celia (2020), marks a defining moment in Savage’s career as she reintroduces herself with a raw, intimate body of work.
Taking to her X page on Tuesday, the singer revealed that the 13-track record captures her journey through pain, resilience, motherhood, and growth, with a sound rooted in Afrobeats but layered with global influences.
“This album is my story, so I kept the features limited. I wanted you all to feel me in every song,” Savage explained. “The few collaborations I chose were very intentional — with people who understood the vision and could add to the message without taking away from its intimacy.”
This One Is Personal was recorded between Lagos, London, and Nashville, blending diverse musical textures. Among the few collaborators are UK rapper Skepta and rising Nigerian star Taves, both handpicked to match the album’s emotional depth.
For Savage, this project is not about industry metrics or chart battles but about connection with her fans. Since the announcement, the hashtag #ThisOneIsPersonal has been trending globally, with fans expressing excitement and sharing their anticipation for the album’s release.
