Zelenskyy now ready to negotiate directly with Putin

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he is now ready to negotiate directly with Vladimir Putin to end the conflict.

As the war enters its fourth year this month, the Ukrainian leader has signaled his willingness to engage in direct talks with his Russian counterpart.

In an interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, he explained that if direct negotiations were the only way to bring peace to Ukrainian citizens, they should be considered.

“I will not be kind to him. I consider him an enemy. And to be honest, I believe he considers me an enemy as well,” the Ukrainian leader added.

In recent weeks, both Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin have expressed a willingness to sit down for negotiations, a prospect made more likely by the involvement of Donald Trump.

The U.S. president has repeatedly vowed to end the war quickly, but so far, he has yet to propose a concrete plan.

The Ukrainian leader told Piers Morgan: “We will be speaking with Putin. Don’t we make too many compromises? Even the conversation with Putin is already a compromise. Nobody knows how this conversation will start and how it will end. Nobody knows, but we believe that President Trump wants to succeed in this situation.”
