Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that he will not accept any agreement negotiated solely between the United States and Russia.

As Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have already begun private negotiations, the Ukrainian leader reaffirmed that Ukraine must be included in any peace discussions.

“I will never accept any decisions between the United States and Russia about Ukraine. This is the war in Ukraine, against us, and it’s our human losses,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker last week in Munich.

He continued: “There is no leader in the world who can really make a deal with Putin about us, without us.”

Meanwhile, European leaders are set to meet in Paris on Monday, following an initiative by French President Emmanuel Macron, to urge Washington to keep both Europe and Ukraine involved in peace negotiations.

European nations fear that Moscow may use direct talks with Washington to push for unfavorable terms on Kyiv, particularly forcing Ukraine into a position of neutrality.
