The Anambra State Police Command has announced that operators of the boat in which the late actor, Junior Pope was travelling in before he and three others met their untimely deaths have been arrested.

The state police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this to our correspondent on Saturday, adding that the boat operators were in police custody in connection with the unfortunate incident.

Ikenga also disclosed that the producer of the movie, Adanma Luke, had voluntarily turned herself in to the police.

He added that other members of the cast and crew of the movie would be invited for questioning.

 

Ikenga said, “Yes, the boat operators have been arrested. Even the producer of the movie, Adanma Luke. Their statements were taken, and interrogation is ongoing.

 

“Other members of the cast and crew of the movie would be invited for questioning.”

He assured that nothing would be swept under the carpet with regard to the investigation of the incident.

Sources reported that the news of Pope’s death was shared on Wednesday, April 10, by filmmaker, Samuel Olatunji.

He said that the actor, along with three others, lost their lives when their boat capsized.

“Four actors, including Jnr Pope, fell into Anam River on their way to a location, and their bodies have been recovered,” he said.
