Spokesperson of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, Dino Melaye, has said the poor performance of the President, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has ruined the chances of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, of becoming the next President of Nigeria.

Dino, who said this during an interview monitored by our correspondent on Channel Television, stated that the failure of the ruling APC to provide solutions to the economic challenges bedevilling the country made all candidates of the party “not marketable”

He said, “We have carried out a lot of intellectual works. We have carried out opinion polls, we’ve interacted with the people and this government marketed Atiku by their colossal failure.

“Today, the most difficult candidate to sell is any APC candidate whether at counsellorship level, House of Assembly, House of Reps or Senate or governorship. That is why you cannot defend Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you cannot promote Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you cannot campaign for Bola Ahmed Tnubu and not look stupid.”

Melaye further said, Atiku prepared himself for today. Even in the last two years, he is the only candidate who has gone to update his education, obtain his Master’s degress from a university in Cambridge. So, who is more prepared in terms of experience, in terms of hospitality, in terms of contacts?”

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, Adebayo Shittu, described the APC spokesman as a jester, stressing that Buhari was not the presidential candidate of the APC.

He said, “You know Dino Meleya is a jester and it’s because the PDP wants to continue to abuse Nigerians with fake things. So, they decided to look for a jester like Dino Melaye. I don’t think serious Nigerians should give anything Dino says a very serious thought.
