A Nairobi couple, Joseph and Rubie, has gone viral after cycling to their wedding, which was held in Karen.
Romantic cyclists’ wedding
The bride, dressed in a stylish white gown and sneakers, left Kikuyu for Karen with her bridal team while cycling and were met along the way by the groom in a grey suit and his fellow cyclists.
The cyclists, all in cycling gear, gloves, helmets and cycling jersey sets, acted as security for the couple and shielded them from the rogue motorists along the busy city roads.
After exchanging vows, the cyclists did a guard of honour with their bikes as the couple exited the church.
They had a photoshoot session and, afterwards, cycled to the wedding reception venue.
Joseph and Rubie enjoyed their wedding despite the gloomy weather.

Love on the wheels and cycling into forever
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the beautiful bride revealed they had known each other for a year before they started dating.
After dating for a year, Joseph popped the big day about two months ago. This paved the way for the big day on Saturday, September 9.
“Cycling is at the heart of our love story and a passion we both share. We met while cycling with the ExtraMilers cycling club. We are both passionate about cycling as a hobby and as a way to keep fit. We encourage everyone to uphold the safety of cyclists on the road by sharing the road. Cycling is an affordable and a sustainable mode of transport,” she said.
The couple attracted stares from the public while riding to their wedding, and Rubie said many wondered why a bride would cycle on her big day.
“We believe life is like a bicycle; for one to have balance, one needs to keep pedalling, and what a better way than to do that with your lifetime partner and the love of your life,” she added.
Mombasa bride rides on boda boda to wedding
Of late, lovebirds have been revising creative and unique ways to make grand entrances to their weddings and a few months ago, a Mombasa couple made headlines for riding on boda boda to their wedding venue.
A video of a boda boda rider dressed in a blue custom-made suit and brown shoes while the woman, dressed in a white gown with a tiara on her head, sat calmly on the bike as the man rode it.
The two, believed to be lovebirds, had matching neck garlands, and people took videos of them as the man, whose bike seemed to have run out of fuel, pushed it as he rushed to probably a nearby refill station. In the video, people could be heard laughing and others making fun of them.
