In a bid to cushion the effects of economic hardship and spread the message of hope, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Ondo State Mega 1, South West 4, has reached out to thousands of residents in Akure through its Food Evangelism programme.

The initiative saw over 2,000 families receive food packages, while persons with disabilities (PWDs) were given cash support to help ease their financial burden. The church also extended educational support by awarding scholarships to 50 pupils of Mountain Top Nursery and Primary School, Akure, and distributing 4,000 exercise books to children across the city.

Speaking during the outreach, Pastor Kunle Adesanya, Assembly Pastor of MFM International Headquarters and Head of the Prophetic Group, said that while food and aid are essential, the ultimate solution to life’s challenges lies in Jesus Christ. He encouraged participants to embrace faith as a pathway to lasting transformation.

Pastor Ademola Adeniyi, the Mega Regional Overseer, described the programme as part of MFM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) under its Explosive Evangelism Initiative. He explained that beyond food distribution, the church has consistently supported widows with food and financial assistance, and has trained more than 200 women, youths, and teenagers in tailoring, empowering them with free sewing machines.

Adeniyi further revealed that MFM has partnered with the Nigerian Police to improve community security by providing patrol vehicles, installing solar-powered streetlights, and deploying CCTV cameras in strategic areas.

Pastor Bayo Olaniran Ololajulo, Chairman of the Food Evangelism Planning Committee, noted that the initiative was inspired by the biblical account of Jesus feeding the multitudes, highlighting the importance of meeting both spiritual and physical needs.

The event had a spiritual impact as well, with several participants dedicating or rededicating their lives to Christ. Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the assistance came at the right time, especially as families prepare for the new school session.
