A national airline based in Lagos, said the engine of one of its planes caught fire on Thursday during Wednesday’s landing.

“Overland Airways wishes to inform the general public that its flight OF1188 from Ilorin to Lagos experienced an unusually high temperature in the turbine of one of its engines today, Wednesday June 15, 2022 at around 7:50 pm,” the airline said. in a statement posted on its website. He said that the incident occurred during the approach phase of the flight and that the aircraft landed safely while the crew implemented its standard procedures for such a situation.

According to the statement, all 33 passengers on board disembarked safely.

“No passengers were injured in any way,” management added.

The airline said it regretted any inconvenience to its passengers and assured the traveling public of its full commitment to the safety of its services and passengers.
