Earlier this month, LeBron James expressed his disapproval of the ending of the first season of the Netflix series “Squid Game.”

In an interview with The Guardian published Tuesday, “Squid Game” creator Hwang Dong-hyuk responded to LeBron’s criticism and promptly dunked on the four-time NBA champion and 17-time All-Star.

“Have you seen ‘Space Jam 2’?” Hwang says. “LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending.

“If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, ‘I liked your whole show, except the ending.'”

Later Tuesday, James reacted to Hwang’s comments with a Twitter post: “This can’t be real right??!! I hope not 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”

Following a preseason game on Oct. 12, LeBron James – a seemingly committed and emotionally invested viewer of “Squid Game” – discussed his feelings on the Season 1 finale with Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis in front of reporters.

“Yeah, I did finish it,” James said to Davis. “You finish it? You watched it? You done? Yeah, I didn’t like the ending though.

“I know they start it off with a season two but like, get on the (expletive) flight and go see your daughter, bro. Like what are you doing?”
