Tinubu Reveals What Would Happen If He Loses APC presidential Primaries

National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu has opened up on what he would do if he loses the party’s primaries.

 

In a video shared by Jubril Gawat, a media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Twitter, the aspirant assured his followers that he would win but If he does not, he will accept defeat.

Speaking in Yoruba language, Tinubu stated that he is ready to put in all effort to come out as the party’s candidate but if it does not go as planned he would go home.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday directed members of his cabinet with political ambition to submit their resignation letters on or before Monday the 16th of May, 2022.

Buhari gave directives during the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed revealed this while addressing State House Correspondents at the end of the FEC meeting.

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal has expressed confidence that the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will clinch the party’s 2023 presidential ticket.

 

Lawal who claimed Tinubu and his team are fully prepared as seasoned politicians to turn every challenge into opportunities added that should the former Lagos State Governor lose, then he will go home, lick his wounds and support whoever emerges as the APC candidate.

The former SGF added however that this will be possible if the winner emerges in a free and fair manner.

Naija News reports this position was made known on Wednesday by Lawal while addressing newsmen after he and other supporters submitted Tinubu’s presidential expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the May 30 primary election date of the APC.

He said; “We feel elated that today we have come to submit the winning form and we have complied with one of the major requirements of the party for contesting for presidency on the platform of APC. We have done all that is required we have submitted all the required documents. As you can see, we have received our acknowledgement copy and we are confident victory will be ours come 30th May during the convention.

“We are democrats and we believe that if there are one million contestants on the platform of APC we will carry majority of the delegates at the convention. So, the more the merrier, they are all welcome. We are 100% prepared.

“There are no challenges. We are politicians, we have been in this game for many years. Whatever challenges there are, we have already converted them into opportunities.

He added that “Asiwaju is a democrat. Every politician should not be afraid of the election because the probabilities are two: either you win or lose. So, if we lose at the convention we go back home, we lick our wounds and prepare to support the winner if he emerges in a free and fair manner.”

As reported, the forms were submitted to the APC on behalf of Tinubu by a team of supporters including Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu, amongst others.
