Hollywood icon Bruce Willis was recently diagnosed with dementia and his wife Emma Heming has categorically denied that his ex-wife Demi Moore moved in to help take care of him.

Claims Moore was helping Willis

Earlier on, there were claims that 60-year-old Moore was helping Heming, 44, and their young daughters to take care of the 67-year-old Die Hard star.

On Wednesday, March 8, Heming said: “Let’s nip this one in the bud. This is so dumb. Please stop.”

Mail Online reports Moore’s representative clarified she was not committed to living with Bruce and Emma, but according to another source, the renowned actress ‘never left’ her pod with her ex-husband’s family.

Willis, Moore lived together during pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Willis lived with Moore and their adult children in Sun Valley, Idaho.

The unconventional arrangement was originally supposed to include Emma, but she had to stay back after one of her and Willis’s daughters accidentally poked herself with a hypodermic needle found at a park.

What is frontotemporal dementia?

Bruce is battling frontotemporal dementia. According to the Mayo Clinic, Frontotemporal dementia is an umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain.

These brain areas are generally associated with personality, behaviour and language.

According to another source, Bruce was “determined to stay coherent and lucid for as long as possible’ in hopes of being able to make an impression on his upcoming granddaughter from his oldest daughter Rumer Willis.”

Rummer announced she was expecting her first child with her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas in late December 2022.

Frontotemporal dementia awareness

On Tuesday, March 7, Bruce’s wife Emma tried to ‘raise awareness’ of Willis’s condition.

In a video posted to her Instagram, Willis, 44, talked about channelling her pain into ‘something good’ and using her platform to spread awareness of the ailment.

“I just saw something about me getting my five minutes, which is great. Which means that you’re listening. So I’m going to take my five minutes and I’m going to turn it into 10 because I’m always going to advocate for my husband,” she said.

“And, while I’m at it, I’m going to raise awareness around FTD and for caregivers, who are unsung heroes out there. And then, and then, I am going to turn my grief and my anger and my sadness and do something good around something that feels less than. So, watch this space, because I didn’t come to play.” she added

Willis retired from Hollywood

A year ago, Willis’s family announced he would be stepping away from his career after he was diagnosed with aphasia.

Willis recently posted an emotional plea asking families with dementia sufferers for advice on how to live safely in the world.

The Hollywood icon was seen out and about last week, the first time since his family revealed he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

He shares Rumer, 34, Scout, 31 and Tallulah, 29, with Moore, to whom he was married from 1987 to 2000.

Willis had allegedly been struggling with cognitive issues on film sets for years and used an earpiece to feed him lines.

The star’s decades-long career has earned him a Golden Globe award and two Emmys.
